Widener University\’s School of Nursing (SON) has vacancies for health assessment and pharmacokinetics (medication calculation) lab instructors. This position supports the growth of the undergraduate Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) program. The Adjunct Nursing Lab Instructor will teach in the undergraduate program at Widener University in simulation labs with 8 students, focusing on foundational skills development in preparation for clinical practice.

Adjunct Nursing Lab Instructors are expected to attend all lab sessions. Labs can be scheduled during the day or evening, on weekdays or weekends.

Clinical Responsibilities of Adjunct Lab Faculty

  1. Complete all clinical health requirements in Castlebranch.
  2. Create patient assignments prior to the start of the clinical day.
  3. Supervise students in all aspects of skills assigned.
  4. Review and provide feedback on all written clinical assignments.
  5. Submit grades for assignments as directed by the course coordinator.
  6. Provide weekly feedback to students in the lab area.
  7. Complete midterm and final clinical evaluations.
  8. Communicate any issues during lab with the course coordinator.
  9. Responsible for all lab hours assigned to the course.
  10. Write letters of recommendation as requested by students.

Qualifications

Required qualifications include a Master of Science in Nursing or a Master of Science with a major in nursing. A Bachelor\’s degree in nursing is acceptable if currently enrolled in a Master\’s program. Completion of the Master\’s degree is required within 5 years of hire. Clinical experience is also required.

Candidates must hold licensure as a registered nurse in PA; licensure in NJ or DE is required if relevant to the clinical site, or the ability to obtain such licensure prior to the start of clinical. At least three years of recent clinical practice in the relevant specialty is required.

Preference will be given to candidates with Clinical Instructor experience.
