Widener University’s Center for Continuing Studies is currently seeking highly qualified adjunct faculty to teach in the following fields: Math, Public Policy & Economics. Part-time adjunct faculty may instruct 1 or 2 courses each semester on an “as needed” basis. Courses available for adjunct staffing are offered in online, hybrid and evening formats.
Adjunct faculty are expected to:
- Teach, provide support and guidance to students;
- Facilitate online or campus-based courses and respond to student needs in a timely fashion;
- Develop strategies to teach the course for the entire semester or session, using the course syllabus template;
- Meet the university's academic standards;
- Organise and prepare course materials for facilitation;
- Utilise educational technology to engage students and enhance learning;
- Connect students' current study to real-world applications;
- Demonstrate consistency and fairness in the preparation and grading of assignments;
- Provide timely feedback to students;
- Maintain students' grade book and complete final grades by the deadline.
Complete applications are to include a cover letter that identifies preferred courses, C.V. and contact information for three professional references. This is a pooled position from which Adjunct will be hired. As openings occur, applicants will be hired from this pool.
