Our client is one of the world's top hands-free video streaming technology companies with over 6500 staff globally across EMEA, NA, APAC, and the Middle East. They are growing rapidly with cutting-edge AR and VR technologies.
They are looking for a system engineer to support their hardware R&D and manufacturing divisions within the infrastructure environment:
- L3/L4 technical support, infrastructure-related troubleshooting and end-user hardware/software issues within agreed-upon SLAs
- Provisioning, installation, configuration, and maintenance of systems and related infrastructure and routine patching of physical and virtual server environments
- Creation and maintenance of comprehensive "as-built" documentation and system administration operating procedures
- Technical assessment of new technologies
- Vendor management
- Main technical environment: Mostly Windows Server, some Linux, Active Directory, VMware, SAN, storage, backup, scripting in Bash/PowerShell/Python, bespoke manufacturing system configuration
Requirements:
- 5+ years of expertise in Windows Server versions, Active Directory administration, DNS, DHCP, and Group Policy Management
- Practical experience managing VMware and Hyper-V environments
- Experience with Storage Area Networks (SAN) and iSCSI
- Infrastructure Design: load balancing, auto-scaling, replication, and encryption protocols
- Linux administration and support is a plus
- Scripting: proficient in BASH, PowerShell, or Python for infrastructure automation
- Familiar with ticketing systems such as Jira or ServiceNow
Please note this role requires 5 days on site in Abingdon (OX14) where they have a manufacturing site and cleanroom. A cleanroom suit will be provided and must be used for safety reasons when you enter the cleanroom areas for any system-related work.
Initially, this is a 10-month full-time contract starting ASAP until 31st December 2026 with the option to extend yearly afterwards. The contract is inside IR35, offering up to £475 per day. Monday to Friday standard business hours.
