Wide Angle Software creates trusted media management software and apps for Windows, Mac, iOS and Android. We are looking to recruit a graduate for a 1-year placement to join our web development team. This is an excellent opportunity for someone at the start of their career who wants hands-on experience across web development, website content, digital marketing, SEO, customer support, and software testing.

Role Description

As a Graduate Web Developer at Wide Angle Software, you will support the ongoing maintenance, development, and optimisation of our websites and digital content. The role will involve maintaining and updating our website, creating written content and website visuals, supporting digital marketing and SEO activity, and helping improve the customer experience across our online channels. You will also be involved in direct customer interaction through social media and customer support emails, as well as software testing and bug reporting.

Role Responsibilities

  • Website Maintenance & Content Updates
    • Maintain and update website pages, product content, blog content, landing pages, and support information.
    • Assist with publishing and QA of website content to support product updates, campaigns, and ongoing improvements.
  • Front-End Web Development
    • Support the development and improvement of website pages using HTML, CSS, JavaScript, and related web technologies.
    • Build and update responsive web pages that work well across desktop, tablet, and mobile devices.
    • Assist with front-end bug fixes, styling improvements, and user experience enhancements.
    • Learn and apply best practices for accessibility, usability, performance, and maintainable code.
  • Digital Marketing & SEO
    • Support SEO work including metadata updates, page structure, internal linking, content optimisation, and keyword-focused improvements.
    • Assist with digital marketing activity across website content, campaigns, and social media.
    • Help monitor website performance, traffic, engagement, and conversion-related metrics.
    • Contribute ideas for improving product pages, blog content, support pages, and customer journeys.
    • Support competitor and market research to identify ideas for improving website content and user experience.
  • Content Creation & Graphic Assets
    • Create and update simple graphics, social media assets, website visuals, banners, and marketing materials using tools such as Canva and Affinity.
    • Support the creation of visual content for website pages, blog posts, email campaigns, product updates, and social media.
  • Customer Interaction & Support
    • Assist with direct customer interaction through social media channels and customer support emails.
    • Help respond to customer questions in a clear, helpful, and professional way.
    • Identify common customer questions or issues that could be improved through better website content or support materials.
  • Software Testing & Bug Reporting
    • Support testing of Wide Angle Software products, website updates, and digital experiences.
    • Assist with QA testing across different devices, browsers, and operating systems.
    • Help verify fixes and ensure updates meet quality standards before release.

Essential Knowledge, Skills & Experience

  • A recent graduate in a relevant degree subject in Web Development, Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related subject.
  • Working knowledge of HTML, CSS, and JavaScript.
  • An interest in web development, digital marketing, SEO, and customer experience.
  • Strong written English and the ability to create clear, accurate content.
  • Good attention to detail and a willingness to test, check, and improve work before release.
  • A proactive attitude and willingness to learn new tools, platforms, and processes.
  • Good communication skills and the confidence to interact with customers professionally.
  • Ability to work both independently and as part of a small collaborative team.

Desirable Knowledge, Skills & Experience

  • Experience with website content management systems.
  • Basic understanding of SEO and on-page optimisation.
  • Familiarity with Google Analytics, Google Search Console, or digital marketing tools.
  • Experience creating content for websites, blogs, email, or social media.
  • Awareness of responsive design and accessibility best practices.
  • Interest in software testing, QA, and bug reporting.
  • Experience with jQuery, React or other JavaScript frameworks.
  • Experience using Canva, Affinity, Photoshop or similar graphic design tools to create social media graphics, website visuals, banners, or marketing assets.
  • An eye for layout, visual consistency, and creating clear, engaging digital content.

Location and Contract Type

  • This is a full-time role based at our Stafford office.
  • You will be expected to work from our Stafford office at least 4 days per week. It is essential that you are either currently living within a commutable distance of Stafford or are happy to relocate to the Stafford area.
  • Contract type: 1-year graduate placement, with the opportunity to move into a permanent full-time role following successful completion of the placement.

It is essential that you currently have the right to work full time in the UK until at least October 2027.
