Responsibilities

  • Carry out the statutory duty of care for pupils with special educational needs
  • Lead the school's SEN strategy and work closely with teachers, parents and external agencies
  • Provide classroom teaching, where required, focusing on inclusive practices
  • Support teacher professional development in inclusive education
  • Work with the Unity Schools Partnership to share best practice and resources

Qualifications & Experience

  • Strong commitment to continuing professional development
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, child-centred and reliable
  • Experience in SEN or inclusive teaching, including current or former SENCO role
  • Knowledge of national curriculum and inclusive practices
  • Experience working with multi-agency support and partnership working
