Are you passionate about shaping the future of our teams and fostering a culture where every colleague has the opportunity to thrive? We are looking for an L&D Business Partner to champion personal development and empower our people across Wickes.

Role Purpose

Working alongside our teams in Distribution and networking with the Head Office L&D Team to design, develop and deliver an L&D proposition that is aligned to our talent strategy and growth ambitions for the future and continue to build on the amazing work we do to build skills within our local communities.

What you’ll be doing:

  • Support the delivery of the L&D strategy for Wickes Plc, ensuring that it is aligned to the talent strategy and the business strategy.
  • Drive a self-directed learning culture, enabling this through our tools, systems and programmes.
  • Work with senior leaders and HR Business Partners across Distribution to identify learning needs and design and deliver programmes, tools and experiences that are in line with our talent and business strategy.
  • Support the development of our internal talent pipelines to ensure that they have the skills they need for the future.
  • Embed our brand and identity for the L&D proposition, driving awareness of the proposition, its purpose and ways to navigate.
  • Support the organisation to develop our core capabilities for the future, designing and delivering the programme that supports the delivering of these capabilities.
  • Identify individual and team assessment tools for use by the business and aligned to the talent strategy.
  • Digitise our L&D offer, finding the balance with a blended learning approach.
  • Deliver soft skills and leadership training where appropriate.
  • Evaluate the effectiveness of key L&D activities tracking return on investment and expectations of key programmes and events.
  • Ensuring all regulatory and legal and compliance training is being met across the organisation and reporting on our performance.

What we’re looking for:

  • Experience of delivering L&D solutions in a medium sized, fast paced, corporate environment.
  • Experience working alongside stakeholders to develop L&D tools and programmes to support the delivery of a business goal or strategy.
  • Evidence of establishing brilliant partnership relationships with key stakeholders.
  • Experience of delivering learning through technology and applying a blended learning approach.
  • Proven track record of delivering soft skills and leadership training.
  • Evidence of consultancy skills; able to ask the right questions to establish the real need.
  • Challenges appropriately.
  • Commercial and Customer focus.
  • Is enthusiastic about learning, actively develops themselves.
  • Keeps up to date with learning opportunities.
