We are looking for a highly organized Marketing Manager to own the end-to-end management process for all Wickes publications, including brochures, promotional leaflets, and seasonal flyers on a FTC for 12 months. The primary focus of this role is to lead the strategic operational delivery of these assets, ensuring every publication is aligned with the Wickes brand and delivered seamlessly from initial concept to store distribution. Rather than focusing on the technical artwork side, you will be the owner of the production process. You will be responsible for briefing your strategic ideas into our internal creative team, working closely with them to bring your vision to life, and managing the complex input of multiple cross-functional stakeholders.
What you’ll be doing:
- End-to-End Process Ownership: Manage the entire lifecycle of publication production, from the initial strategic brief to the in-house studio through to final delivery and distribution.
- Creative Briefing & Collaboration: Lead the briefing process for the creative team, providing clear direction for trend-led photography, CGI imagery, and design, then partnering with them to ensure the output meets brand guidelines.
- Stakeholder Management: Act as the central point of contact for multiple departments, including Commercial, Retail Operations, and the wider Marketing team, to manage their input and ensure alignment across the business.
- Operational Excellence: Initiate and maintain robust production planners and workload trackers to ensure all projects are delivered on time and within budget.
- Budget & Supplier Management: Own the publications budget, including periodic phasing and reporting, and manage relationships with external printers and production suppliers to ensure maximum value.
- Brand Guardianship: Act as the gatekeeper for the Wickes brand, ensuring that the creative team’s output adheres to all visual and tonal guidelines.
What we are looking for?
- Project Management Expertise: Proven experience managing complex, multi-stakeholder production workflows, preferably within a retail or design environment.
- Strategic Communicator: Ability to translate marketing objectives into compelling briefs for creative teams and the confidence to present ideas and progress to senior stakeholders.
- Exceptional Coordination: Strong organizational skills with a focus on workload planning, print production management, and brand guardianship.
- Attention to Detail: Meticulous approach to proofreading and process tracking to maintain high standards across all publications.
- Collaborative Mindset: A track record of building effective working relationships across different departments to drive projects forward.
Note: While a working knowledge of design tools is helpful for communication, this role is focused on process leadership and stakeholder management rather than hands-on artwork production.
What can we offer you?
You’ll be supported with fantastic learning and development and have the opportunity to grow and develop your career with us. We’ll also equip you with a benefits package that includes:
- Competitive bonus
- Private Medical and Life Assurance
- Enhanced contributory pension scheme
- Colleague discount
- Discount platform including savings and cash back at numerous retailers, savings on gym membership, cycle to work scheme
