About the Role

As a Teaching Assistant Level 2, you will be a vital part of the classroom team, supporting the class teacher to deliver engaging lessons, ensuring resources are ready, and the environment is safe and organised. You will work directly with students—sometimes with the whole class, often in small groups or one‑to‑one—helping them understand learning activities and reach their goals. Your role blends academic support with pastoral care, including marking routine tests and supporting students with Education, Health and Care Plans (EHCPs).

Responsibilities

  • Learning Support: Deliver structured teaching programmes and assist the class teacher with learning activities, supporting individuals and small groups to achieve their goals.
  • Monitoring & Assessment: Monitor and report on pupil progress and achievement, providing detailed feedback to the teacher and assisting with routine marking and record‑keeping.
  • Environment & Admin: Maintain an organised learning environment by managing resources, conducting clerical duties such as display work, and ensuring Health and Safety compliance.
  • Pastoral & Behaviour: Support classroom management by promoting good behaviour and providing pastoral care, including the implementation of EHCPs for students with specific needs.

Qualifications

Must hold an NVQ Level 2 for Teaching Assistants (or equivalent qualification or experience).
