About the Role
As Site Manager Level 1, you will be the backbone of the academy's premises team. You will take full ownership of the site's security, health and safety, and general maintenance—from unlocking the gates in the morning to preparing the halls for evening community lettings. This is a varied and active role where no two days are the same. One moment you could be carrying out minor repairs or liaising with contractors, and the next you will be leading and monitoring our dedicated cleaning team. Your hard work will directly ensure that our school remains a clean, compliant, and inspiring place to learn.
Responsibilities
- Security & Safety: Ensure the security of the site at all times (including opening/closing procedures and emergency call-outs). Take responsibility for site safety by conducting regular risk assessments in line with Health & Safety and COSHH regulations.
- Maintenance & Repairs: Ensure the site is maintained and fit for purpose by carrying out minor repairs, organising emergency repairs, and contributing to the planning of a scheduled maintenance programme.
- Contractor Liaison: Assist in the procurement process for routine maintenance work and liaise with onsite contractors to ensure tasks are completed to the required standards and timescales.
- Team Leadership: Allocate and monitor the work of the cleaning team, ensuring strict deadlines and quality standards are met, and identifying or providing training where required.
- Systems & Compliance: Operate and regularly check building systems, ensuring they are tested to the required standard, and maintain accurate records for inspection.
- Logistics & Lettings: Undertake general porterage duties (moving furniture/equipment), manage the receipt and distribution of deliveries, and oversee school lettings by preparing the site for after-school activities.
- Stock Control: Monitor stock levels and order supplies to ensure appropriate resources are available for the premises and cleaning teams.
