Responsibilities Include:

  • Environment Management: Create and maintain a purposeful, orderly, and productive working environment that meets the health and safety standards of the academy.
  • Preparation & Organisation: Ensure the timely and accurate preparation of equipment, resources, and materials as required by lesson plans to facilitate effective and efficient teaching activities.
  • Practical Support: Under the guidance of teachers, support practical activities for groups or one‑to‑one sessions, ensuring health and safety and promoting good behaviour among pupils at all times. Provide feedback to pupils and teaching staff regarding progress and achievement.
  • Resource Management: Order and maintain sufficient supplies of materials to enable the smooth delivery of lessons. Demonstrate and assist teaching staff and pupils in the safe and effective use of equipment and materials.
  • Safety & Security: Monitor and manage the safe and secure storage of allocated equipment and materials to prevent unauthorised access or misuse.
  • Maintenance & Repair: Clean and undertake maintenance of equipment, performing repairs and modifications as required to ensure quality and safety standards are maintained.
  • Health & Safety Compliance: Perform duties in line with health and safety regulations, including the safe treatment and disposal of used materials and hazardous substances. Take action where hazards are identified and report any serious hazards to the appropriate person.
  • Record Keeping: Undertake necessary record‑keeping to ensure accurate documentation of resources and activities.
