Are you a resilient and inspiring individual committed to helping students overcome barriers to learning? We are seeking a dedicated Learning Mentor to work with targeted pupils, providing the essential support—both academic and pastoral—that they need to unlock their potential and succeed in the classroom.
At Wickersley Partnership Trust (WPT), we are fueled by a single commitment: ‘We never do less for other people’s children than we would for our own.’ As a thriving network of schools across South Yorkshire, we combine high expectations with embedded inclusivity. We do not work in silos; instead, we rely on deep collaboration and school‑to‑school support to ensure every student develops socially, emotionally, and academically to achieve the highest standards.
As a Learning Mentor Level 1, you will play a crucial role in bridging the gap between students’ challenges and their academic success. You will work closely with teaching staff to identify individual needs and implement tailored learning plans. This is a diverse and hands‑on role where you will not only mentor students one‑to‑one but also plan, deliver, and mark lessons to support their progress. Whether you are conducting home visits to build relationships with families or providing specific interventions in school, your work will make a tangible difference to the lives of our young people.
Responsibilities:
- Plan, deliver, and mark differentiated lessons for individuals and small groups, providing specific support to help students overcome barriers to learning.
- Mentor pupils one‑to‑one to implement individual learning plans and facilitate access to necessary academic resources and external facilities.
- Observe and record student achievement, maintaining accurate records and providing feedback to teaching staff to help identify specific needs.
- Build strong relationships with families to communicate progress and concerns, supporting the Class Teacher with interventions, including home visits.
The successful candidate must hold an NVQ Level 2 or equivalent.
