Wicker Hamilton has been engaged by a prestigious international law firm to identify a high‑calibre Private Funds Associate to join its market‑leading London team. The group represents a diverse range of private equity sponsors, fund managers, and institutional investors across all aspects of fund formation, fund structuring, and capital raising. The practice advises on the establishment and operation of buyout, credit, infrastructure, real estate, venture capital, and secondary funds, with a strong cross‑border element involving the U.S., Europe, and key offshore jurisdictions.
This is an exceptional opportunity to work within a collaborative and intellectually rigorous environment, advising premier clients on primary and secondary fundraisings, GP‑led transactions, co‑investment vehicles, and continuation funds. The team also regularly supports clients on regulatory and operational matters impacting their fund platforms.
The Role
- Acting for leading private equity sponsors and fund investors on fund formation, fund structuring, and investor negotiations.
- Advising on GP‑led secondary transactions, co‑investments, continuation funds, and separately managed accounts.
- Collaborating closely with colleagues in tax, regulatory, and transactional teams to deliver fully integrated advice.
- Supporting cross‑border fundraising and fund management matters with a strong U.S. and European investor base.
Requirements
- Qualified solicitor in England & Wales / United States / New Zealand / Australia with 3–6 years’ post‑qualification experience gained at a transactional‑heavy international law firm or US law firm.
- Proven experience advising on private fund formation and investment management mandates.
- Strong understanding of AIFMD, FCA regulations, and global investor trends.
- Excellent drafting, commercial judgment, and client‑facing skills.
