Location: West Wellow (nr Romsey), Hampshire – Office Based

Hours: 20-25 hours per week, ideally between school hours (9:30am – 2:30pm)

Salary: £18,000-£24,000 per annum (pro-rata based on hours) depending on experience

About the Role

We are seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Bookkeeper to join our team at our West Wellow office. This role is perfect for a parent looking for meaningful part-time work that fits around school hours. You\’\’ll manage the financial records for our CEO (a high net worth individual), Wicked Sick business operations, and provide bookkeeping support services to our consultancy clients.

This is a focused financial role that requires expertise in Xero accounting software and the ability to handle complex, multi-entity bookkeeping requirements. The position offers excellent work-life balance with consistent office-based hours that align with the school day.

Key Responsibilities

  • Maintain comprehensive bookkeeping records in Xero for personal finances, Wicked Sick business accounts, and client accounts
  • Process invoices, receipts, and expenses across multiple entities
  • Reconcile bank accounts, credit cards, and other financial accounts monthly
  • Prepare and maintain accurate cashflow forecasts, P&L statements, and balance sheets
  • Manage VAT returns and ensure compliance with HMRC requirements
  • Coordinate with external accountants for year-end accounts and tax submissions
  • Track and categorise investment portfolio transactions and returns

Client Support Services

  • Provide bookkeeping services to Wicked Sick consultancy clients as part of our \”Business in a Box\” offering
  • Set up and maintain Xero systems for new clients
  • Train client teams on basic Xero functionality and best practices
  • Prepare monthly financial reports and KPI dashboards for clients
  • Support clients with budgeting, forecasting, and financial planning activities

Process & Systems Management

  • Develop and maintain standardised bookkeeping processes and procedures
  • Ensure all financial records are properly documented and filed
  • Identify opportunities to streamline financial processes and improve efficiency
  • Maintain confidentiality of all financial information across personal and business accounts

Essential Skills & Experience

  • Technical Expertise
    • Xero Proficiency: Advanced knowledge of Xero accounting software with proven experience managing multiple entities
    • UK Accounting Standards: Strong understanding of UK bookkeeping principles, VAT regulations, and HMRC compliance
    • Financial Reporting: Experience preparing P&L statements, balance sheets, cashflow forecasts, and management reports
    • Multi-Entity Management: Proven ability to manage bookkeeping for multiple businesses and personal accounts simultaneously
  • Professional Experience
    • Minimum 3 years\’ experience in bookkeeping or accounting role
    • Experience working with high net worth individuals and their complex financial arrangements
    • Previous experience providing bookkeeping services to multiple clients or businesses
    • Experience in tech, creative, or consultancy sectors preferred
    • AAT qualification or equivalent professional qualification preferred

    • Familiarity with other accounting software platforms (QuickBooks, Sage, etc.)
    • Experience with expense management systems and receipt processing tools
    • Understanding of convertible loan structures and equity accounting
