The Security Officer will control access to site and monitor behaviours within the site, and assist with the implementation of the Company’s H&S Policies, Site rules and ensuring that best practices are implemented, monitored and recorded in accordance with HMRC regulations whilst also ensuring our Security and H&S performance is adhered to and continually improved upon.
- Control access to site and ensure only authorised personnel and approved visitors/contractors are granted access.
- Process all delivery and despatch drivers and ensure all relevant checks are carried out.
- Process all outgoing courier parcels and mail.
- Assist in the management of traffic to ensure a safe and secure environment for the company operations.
- Assist with safe evacuation of personnel and taking ‘Roll Call’ during emergency evacuation and drills.
- Assist in the adherence of the H&S rules for the facility.
- Assist in ensuring H&S checks are completed; weekly call points/fire alarm checks and on a monthly basis for fire doors and fire extinguishers checks.
- Ensure compliance with company requirements and government regulations.
Skills and experience that will help you be a success:
- IOSH Working Safely is desirable.
- First Aid trained or willing to work towards this qualification is essential (additional payment paid once qualified).
- Previous experience in a Security or H&S role is desirable.
- Knowledge and understanding of H&S and Security Policies is desirable.
- Knowledge of CCTV regulations is desirable.
- Excellent communication and customer service skills.
- Good organisational skills with ability to handle multiple tasks.
