Function: Commercial
Location: Head Office, Glasgow with a potential requirement for UK travel up to 10% of the time. Flexibility for a blend of office and home working with a minimum of 2 days in the office.
Contract: Full Time / Permanent - 35 hours per week.

What the opportunity looks like: This role is to support the UK Grocery & Convenience Category & Channel Marketing team. You will work with this wider team to implement mutual growth strategy across UK Grocery (instore & online) as well as the Convenience channel. You will implement the instore and online retail activation strategy whilst also learning and developing skills to mine data and thus create insight as we strive to make change in UK Grocery driving the category agenda with our customers to thus achieve mutual growth.
This role whilst supporting the Category and Channel Marketing Team will be pivotal in shaping the instore and online activation plan. There will also be focus on bringing NPD from idea to instore / online / convenience launch working with various functions of the W&M business using the skills learned to mine data to help shape category stories across the UK off trade landscape. There will be opportunities to learn and develop from this role. You will also seek to establish external Retailer agency relationships.
Work with the UK team to develop an activation plan across the portfolio of brands distributed to support the delivery of the brand plan and channel activation budget. Be responsible for driving a shared agenda for excellence in execution and measurement across all activities. Learn skills to mine available data sources for useful insights that will shape category stories and drive category and “customer first thinking” across all solutions/presentations. Support on the development of customer presentations, outlining key performance data for our brands and the category, and showcasing our brand and activation plans. Develop & drive key activations as outlined in the brand marketing plans; ensure measurement becomes a mantra across all activations. Ensure all brands have best in class online Visibility across grocery.com.
Skills and experience that will help you be a success: For this role we’re looking for:
- Entry level channel marketing role – previous experience in channel marketing, category or marketing would be advantageous but not essential.
- Experience in a sales environment within Beer, Wine & Spirits (BWS) or FMCG would be beneficial.
- Good computer skills with a strong working knowledge and understanding of Microsoft Office applications including Excel and Powerpoint to an intermediate level.
- Good communication skills & ability to interact well both internally and externally at all levels.
- Good time management & organisational skills.
- Results orientated and highly numerate.
- Professional approach and close attention to detail.
