What the opportunity looks like: The National Account Manager for Booker is responsible for driving our distribution, visibility and activation of our brands within the customer. Our partnership with Booker is of huge importance to Whyte & Mackay and you will be responsible for maintaining and driving this forward. You will manage all aspects of this customer relationship, working to maximise our joint growth in Spirits. You’ll also be responsible for driving performance in One-Stop, Fillshill Sutherlands and JW Gray allowing you additional opportunities to exercise your creative flair and commercial acumen.
The above will require you to build strong cross functional relationships across both customer and internally, leading the agenda to achieve our objectives. You will become the expert in Whisky & Spirits and use this knowledge to excite and inspire our customers.
- Deliver a plan that executes our brand activation plan and separates us from the competition.
- Ensure the appropriate range is available in your customer portfolio on the appropriate brands.
- Lead in the delivery of hitting budgeted levels of profit for your customer base through the implementation of robust and creative joint business plans.
- Maximise our return on investment by reviewing customer performance and take action accordingly.
- Implement pricing and promotional strategy consistent with customer/channel guidelines.
- Establish relationships and work with cross functional teams, internal and external, to achieve your objectives.
- Lead the internal team to achieve the desired results across your customer base.
- Accurately forecast the demand for the customer and continually strive to improve your forecasting metrics.
Skills and experience that will help you be a success:
- Experience working on one of the big Route to Market Off Trade accounts, or experience of managing national or large regional accounts.
- Previous experience working in a Sales team in an Account Management role.
- Ability to interpret data and provide actionable insight.
- Understands P&L and financial evaluation tools.
- Knowledge and experience of negotiating and delivering a successful Joint Business Plan.
- Strong relationship building and influencing skills with the ability to adapt style.
- The ability to make sound decisions based on an understanding and interpretation of financial information.
- The ability to develop, implement and optimise sound business decisions on a short and long term view.
