Put finance at the heart of manufacturing and supply chain.

At Whyte & Mackay, we’re looking for an experienced Senior Finance Business Partner – Supply Chain to join our Finance team and play a key role in supporting the performance and future direction of our operations.

This is a positive replacement following retirement, offering the opportunity to step into an established and influential role, build on strong foundations and bring your own experience and perspective to our business.

For this opportunity, manufacturing experience is key.

Ideally, you’ll understand the world of bottling, packaging and warehousing, or bring strong experience from FMCG, food & drink or another complex manufacturing environment where production performance, cost, efficiency and supply chain really matter.

What makes this opportunity different?

This isn't a Finance role operating from the sidelines.

You'll work closely with our Director of Supply Chain and senior operational stakeholders, becoming a trusted finance partner across Bottling, Production, Planning, Procurement, Engineering and the wider Supply Chain operation.

You'll get behind the numbers to understand what is really driving performance, connecting operational activity with financial outcomes and providing the insight and constructive challenge that supports better decisions.

From manufacturing costs and production efficiencies to capacity, investment, sourcing and continuous improvement, your expertise will have genuine visibility and influence.

What you'll be doing

  • Leading the financial partnering for our Bottling, packaging and related manufacturing operations
  • Owning product and production costing, including materials, packaging, labour, overheads and warehousing
  • Leading budgeting and forecasting across relevant manufacturing operations
  • Providing clear insight into production performance, costs, variances, efficiencies and opportunities
  • Partnering with operational leaders to identify cost reduction, waste elimination and productivity improvements
  • Supporting investment, capacity, sourcing, make-versus-buy and other strategic operational decisions
  • Turning complex financial and operational data into clear recommendations for senior stakeholders
  • Supporting robust financial control, reporting and governance
  • Leading and developing colleagues within the operational Finance team

Who we're looking for

We're looking for an experienced finance professional who is as comfortable out in the operation understanding what drives performance as they are analysing the numbers.

We’re looking for someone with strong finance experience supporting and partnering with manufacturing operations, who understands the key commercial and financial drivers of a production environment. Experience working closely with Bottling or other high-volume manufacturing operations would be particularly valuable, alongside an understanding of warehousing and the wider supply chain.

You'll bring:

  • Strong finance experience gained within a manufacturing environment
  • Ideally, experience within Bottling, FMCG, food & drink or a similar production environment
  • Strong management and cost accounting knowledge
  • Experience of product costing, budgeting, forecasting and manufacturing variance analysis
  • An understanding of operational performance, efficiency and cost drivers
  • Ideally, exposure towarehousing and wider supply chain operations
  • The ability to influence and confidently partner with senior operational stakeholders
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to turn data into meaningful insight and action
  • CA, CIMA or ACCA qualification, or currently working towards qualification

Why Whyte & Mackay?

This is an opportunity to bring your finance and manufacturing expertise into a business behind some of the world's most recognised whisky brands, including The Dalmore, Jura, Fettercairn and Tamnavulin.

You'll join a role where Finance is genuinely connected to the operation and where your experience, challenge and insight can make a visible difference.

Ideally based from our Grangemouth Bottling Plant, we offer flexibility to work across Grangemouth and our Glasgow Head Office. You’ll spend a minimum of two days per week on site, including at least one day each week at Grangemouth, alongside our 35-hour working week and half-day finish every Friday.

If you're an experienced manufacturing finance professional who enjoys being close to the operation, influencing senior stakeholders and using financial insight to drive performance, we'd love to hear from you.
