What the opportunity looks like
As BDM you will be responsible for the delivery of Distribution, Visibility, Activation and Amplification (DVAA) across our multi award winning portfolio. The role is focused on managing a call file within the independent free trade. In addition to managing existing accounts to ensure our brands are available in the right outlets to the right consumers and occasions, you will work with outlets to drive digital amplification across multiple social platforms. You will need to engage a range of stakeholders including business owners, operators, managers, and bar tenders as well as our internal stakeholders. The successful candidate will have strong commercial skills, be a great communicator with a natural approach to building relationships and the ability to influence at all levels being an authentic ambassador for Whyte and Mackay. You will be excited by delivering extensive ideas on small budgets and be familiar with social media and its impact on consumer choices.
- Manage a call file of chain on trade groups that total c.150 outlets.
- Journey plan minimum 4 weeks in advance, calling every 4/8/12 weeks.
- Agree commercially viable trading agreements across all prioritised On-Trade accounts.
- Creating and developing links with future partners, maintaining current relationships and maximising engagement.
- Work with accounts to maximise in bar activity amplifying across the account’s social channels.
- Create a clearly defined plan to deliver KPI’s with SMART objectives.
Skills and experience that will help you be a success
For this role we’re looking for:
- Entry level sales roles – Previous FMCG sales experience would be advantageous but not essential.
- Full current driving licence.
- Broad On Trade and Drinks Industry knowledge would be beneficial but not essential.
- Proficient in the use of social media.
- Excellent communication along with active listening skills and diligence.
- Natural ability to sell in a consultative manner.
- Good influencing and negotiation skills.
- Robust presentation and sales techniques.
