We are seeking a highly skilled back-end engineer with a strong background in Java and extensive experience in API infrastructure development. You’ll join a fast-paced startup environment, collaborate with cross-functional teams, and help build cutting-edge financial products powering the future of capital markets.
Location: London (preferred) or remote — within EMEA time zones
What You’ll Do:
- Design, develop, and maintain scalable, robust API infrastructure
- Implement and optimize Java-based server-side logic
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to define, design, and ship new features
- Develop responsive front-end interfaces using modern web technologies (as needed)
- Ensure performance, quality, and responsiveness of applications
- Conduct code reviews; write unit/integration tests; support CI/CD practices
- Troubleshoot and debug issues across the stack
- Stay up-to-date with industry trends to keep solutions competitive
What We’re Looking For:
- 5+ years of professional experience as a Back-End Engineer
- Strong Java proficiency and experience with frameworks (e.g., Spring, Hibernate)
- Strong experience developing and maintaining RESTful APIs
- Database experience (e.g., MySQL, PostgreSQL, MongoDB)
- Cloud and containers: AWS, Azure, GCP; Docker; Kubernetes
- Strong software engineering fundamentals, design patterns, and best practices
- Excellent problem-solving skills, proactive attitude, strong communication and teamwork
Nice to have:
- Exposure to FIX systems / integrating with FIX connectivity
- Fintech experience (post-trade / trading infrastructure: execution, settlement, reconciliation)
- Security best practices
- Open-source contributions
- Exposure to DLT technology
