The predicted salary is between 20000 - 25000 £ per year.

13 hours per week, 38 weeks per year (term time). Daily hours to be discussed at interview, 30 minutes lunch break. Permanent. To start September 2026.

Responsibilities:

  • Assisting teachers to perform their role effectively by preparing resources, learning environments, and completing minor administrative and other tasks as directed.
  • Supporting pupils in their learning in class settings as well as on small group and individual basis across the infant phase (EYFS and KS1).
  • Guiding and caring for pupils as necessary, helping with personal organisation, accidents, managing expectations and behaviour, and committing to their general wellbeing and the school’s safeguarding arrangements.
  • Leading and planning aspects of group support for targeted pupils within a year group.
  • Providing cover supervision for classes as per the needs of the school’s pupils.

Candidate Requirements:

  • Experience of supporting pupils and delivering effective teaching and targeted intervention strategies for groups at Key Stage 1 and EYFS to meet identified needs.
  • Excellent classroom practice with high standards and expectations for teaching, learning and behaviour; class cover supervision experience desirable.
  • Hold HLTA status or an equivalent/higher qualification.
  • Motivated, passionate and reflective in work.
  • Work effectively within a team, under direction of teachers and leaders.
  • Positive engagement with pupils, families and other practitioners or staff.
  • Participation in all aspects of school life and past examples of engagement.
  • Flexible, adaptable, calm under pressure, with initiative and common sense approach.
  • Patient, kind natured, well-humoured, with an even temperament that young children can relate to and feel secure around.
  • Up-to-date first aid training or willingness to undertake it.
  • Commitment to continuing professional development and education in general.
