WH Scott Group offers a breakdown and repair service for all brands of industrial radio remote control systems and have an opportunity for a Radio Remote Control Apprentice to join our highly experienced and knowledgeable Senior Technician to be based at our head office in Wickwar. Working within our friendly and professional team, the successful person will:
- Gain the experience and knowledge required to carry out product repairs to a high standard.
- Develop specialist product knowledge to support customer requirements for equipment.
This role would suit a problem solver who is organised, motivated, and enjoys working in a high performing environment.
Tasks and Training Details
During the apprenticeship, you will receive structured on-the-job training while working alongside experienced engineers and technicians. Typical duties will include:
- Assist with diagnosing faults and carrying out electrical and mechanical product repairs under supervision.
- Learn to test, inspect, and troubleshoot equipment using specialist tools and diagnostic equipment.
- Gain practical experience working with digital control systems and develop an understanding of electrical and electronic principles.
- Follow engineering drawings, technical manuals, and repair procedures to complete work to a high standard.
- Support preventative maintenance activities and ensure products meet quality and safety standards.
- Learn and apply Health & Safety procedures within an engineering and manufacturing environment.
- Maintain accurate service records and complete repair documentation.
- Develop excellent customer service and communication skills while working as part of a professional engineering team.
