Warehouse Operative
Key Areas of Responsibility, Duties and Deliverables Expected
Responsibilities
- Work closely with the Warehouse team to ensure all internal and external deliveries are dealt with efficiently and the warehouse is maintained in an organised manner.
- Work as part of a team to allocate and achieve daily duties and complete the weekly duties checklist.
- Undertake FLT duties in a safe manner and carry out daily FLT checks in accordance with Company procedures.
- Deal promptly with all deliveries arriving at the Company, including associated paperwork.
- Process outgoing orders, including loading and unloading vehicles as required.
- Generate and complete all appropriate paperwork, delivery notes and data entry, including weekly shipping sheets and Advanced Shipping Notices (ASNs).
- Supply raw parts and required jigging to the shop floor and WIP areas.
- Remove finished goods and jigging from the shop floor and WIP areas.
- Transport parts, jigs, materials and products across Company sites using a Company vehicle or FLT in a safe manner.
- Monitor stock levels and highlight any potential shortages to the Logistics Manager, including maintaining minimum stock levels for sundry items.
- Carry out daily stock counts and support monthly and year-end stock takes.
- Maintain inventory controls by completing daily stock sheets and operating FIFO (First In, First Out).
- Maintain high standards of housekeeping within the warehouse and supporting areas, working in line with 5S principles.
- Participate in internal and external training appropriate to the role.
- Liaise with customers both internally and externally where required.
- This role operates within a 24-hour operation.
Initially, the successful candidate will work a day shift before moving to a three-shift rotation, therefore a flexible approach to working is essential.
