Manufacturing Engineer – Automation & Robotics

Job Purpose

We are seeking a skilled and motivated Manufacturing Engineer to join our automation team.

This is an exciting opportunity to work within a fast-paced manufacturing environment, supporting and improving a range of automated production cells and robotic systems.

Key Areas of Responsibility, Duties and Deliverables Expected

Responsibilities

  • Programming and optimisation of industrial robots including ABB, Fanuc and KUKA systems.
  • Robot head manufacturing, assembly and integration.
  • PLC programming, diagnostics and system improvements.
  • Carrying out modifications and upgrades to existing production and automation cells.
  • Day-to-day fault finding and troubleshooting across automated manufacturing equipment.
  • Supporting continuous improvement activities to increase efficiency, reliability and productivity.
  • Working closely with production and maintenance teams to minimise downtime and improve performance.
  • Assisting with commissioning and installation of new automation equipment where required.
  • General Responsibilities & Duties

  • Meeting Health and Safety standards, supporting others to do the same.
  • Assist other areas of the business when required to carry out the same or similar tasks.
  • Any other reasonable duties required.

Required Education, Skills, Training and Experience

Skills

Essential

  • Strong knowledge of robotic programming, ideally ABB, Fanuc and/or KUKA.
  • Experience with PLC programming and industrial control systems.
  • Good fault-finding and problem-solving skills within automated manufacturing environments.
  • Knowledge of electrical and pneumatic systems.
  • Understanding of continuous improvement and lean manufacturing principles.
  • Strong communication and organisational skills.

Experience

Essential

  • Previous experience in a Manufacturing Engineering or Automation Engineering role.
  • Experience working within automated manufacturing environments.
