Stock Controller
Key Areas of Responsibility, Duties and Deliverables Expected
Responsibilities
- Use the AX/ERP system to monitor, measure and maintain stock accuracy above the 95% minimum threshold to support valid MRP regenerations and business planning.
- Take ownership of stock discrepancy investigations, including reviewing transaction history, physical stock checks, bin locations, system movements and process adherence.
- Produce accurate inventory, bin location and discrepancy reports, highlighting trends, repeat issues and areas requiring corrective action.
- Support and drive root cause analysis for stock errors, working with Warehouse, Production and Planning teams to prevent repeat discrepancies.
- Maintain accurate stock quantities, bin locations and material master data within AX, ensuring system information reflects physical stock.
- Support the development and control of cycle counting activities, including planned counts, follow-up investigations and reporting of results.
- Assist with month-end, year-end and ad hoc stock checks, ensuring all counts are completed accurately and actions are followed through.
- Act as the key contact for Warehouse and Production stock enquiries, providing timely and accurate responses.
- Support improvements to reduce manual errors, improve stock accuracy and increase warehouse control.
- Promote stock control procedures, including correct booking, movement, storage and transaction processes.
- Support training and provide guidance to colleagues where recurring transaction or stock control issues are identified.
- Follow Health & Safety guidelines, housekeeping standards and company procedures at all times.
- Carry out stock control duties at off-site storage locations as required.
