Expeditor
Key Areas of Responsibility, Duties and Deliverables Expected
Responsibilities
- Take ownership of the inbound raw material supply to ensure uninterrupted production.
- Expedite raw material deliveries from suppliers to ensure material availability in line with production requirements.
- Monitor system-generated MRP recommendations and convert material requirements into supplier delivery schedules.
- Proactively chase suppliers to recover overdue raw material deliveries and minimise production downtime.
- Monitor raw material stock levels, safety stock, lead times and inventory requirements to prevent shortages and excess stock.
- Identify potential raw material shortages, supplier constraints and logistical issues, implementing contingency plans where necessary.
- Work closely with Procurement and Planning to ensure raw material demand is accurately communicated to suppliers.
- Liaise daily with suppliers regarding delivery performance, capacity constraints and shipment schedules.
- Monitor supplier performance and escalate material supply risks to the wider business where appropriate.
- Maintain accurate ERP data relating to purchase orders, delivery schedules, supplier confirmations and inventory records.
- Support raw material planning activities during the implementation and ongoing development of the SYSPRO ERP/MRP system.
- Monitor freight movements, shipping schedules, Incoterms and transport routes to ensure on-time delivery of raw materials.
- Produce reports and analyse supplier delivery performance, material shortages and inventory trends using Microsoft Excel and ERP reporting tools.
- Work collaboratively with Procurement, Production, Logistics and Quality teams to resolve raw material issues quickly and minimise disruption to manufacturing.
- Drive continuous improvement initiatives to improve supplier delivery performance, inventory accuracy and material availability.
