About The Role

Are you a strategic and inspiring leader looking to drive operational excellence in a dynamic FMCG environment? At Whitworths Ltd, we’re on the lookout for a Front-Line Factory Manager to lead our Night Shift Fruit department. The purpose of the Front-Line Manager role is to manage the production process for the specified area and shift through effective team leadership ensuring the safety, quality, productivity, cost, delivery and morale results are achieved through implementation of continuous improvement initiatives and team development. The Front-Line Manager is accountable to oversee activities which ensure food safety, integrity, authenticity, legality and quality of raw materials, work in progress and finished product.

What are the main responsibilities of the job role?

  • This role understands the business and functional strategy and their role in supporting and delivering this.
  • Inputs into the development and execution of the annual functional plan.
  • Implements and embeds strategic plans.
  • Lead the delivery of implementation of continuous improvement activities for own area and shift with a pipeline of improvement projects for own area/shift.
  • Is accountable for recruitment, training and development, motivating, directing, rewarding and recognising direct reports to optimise employee performance and motivation and boost workplace productivity.
  • Uses a variety of people practices, leadership styles and a coaching approach to achieve.
  • Embraces a culture of performance management.
  • Responsible for managing teams using performance management tools to best effect.
  • Builds an environment of trust and encouragement that supports employee commitment and loyalty.
  • Manages and develops the performance of the team to achieve objectives, by holding 121 performance discussions, coaching, upskilling and holding team members accountable.
  • Development of team to enhance succession planning.
  • Training and development of all team members.
