This role plays a key part in upholding exceptional hygiene and pest-control standards across the site, ensuring full compliance and supporting a safe, clean environment where our people and products can thrive.

The Hygiene Manager role: You'll shape and oversee the full hygiene strategy for the site, ensuring our standards stay consistently high day after day. This includes:
- Designing and maintaining our hygiene strategy and cleaning schedules.
- Ensuring the site meets all relevant hygiene and food-safety legislation.
- Carrying out regular inspections and audits, following up on actions with confidence and care.
- Leading planned deep cleans, including shutdown activities.
- Keeping COSHH files, risk assessments, SOPs, and other documentation impeccably up to date.
- Ensuring hygiene chemicals and equipment are stored and used safely.
You, as Hygiene Manager, will be the trusted link between the business and our pest-control partners, ensuring a proactive and professional approach to prevention. You will:
- Manage our pest control contract and build positive relationships with contractors.
- Review pest control reports, ensuring corrective actions are carried out promptly.
- Drive preventative measures such as building integrity checks and staff awareness.
- Analyse pest-related trends and implement long-term solutions.
You'll help us stay ready for anything - whether it's a routine check or a major certification audit. In this part of the role, you'll:
- Maintain compliance with BRCGS, HACCP, Environmental Health, the FSA, and other relevant standards.
- Prepare the site for internal and external audits with a calm, organised approach.
- Lead or support investigations into hygiene or pest-related non-conformances.
In addition to the above, you'll:
- Lead, support, and develop the hygiene team, including recruitment, training, performance management, and rota planning.
- Deliver clear and engaging hygiene and pest-control training to colleagues across the site.
- Foster a strong culture of hygiene excellence and continuous improvement.
- Identify opportunities to enhance cleaning efficiency, hygiene processes, and pest-prevention systems.
- Implement best-practice techniques, technologies, and equipment to elevate standards.
- Manage hygiene and pest-control budgets responsibly, ensuring effective and cost-efficient solutions.
About you:
- Experience in hygiene or pest control management, ideally within manufacturing, food production, warehousing, or facilities.
- Strong understanding of hygiene standards, microbiology principles, COSHH, and chemical safety.
- Working knowledge of pest control systems and environmental management.
- Experience preparing for and supporting regulatory and customer audits.
- Strong leadership, communication, and training skills.
- Competent in document control, reporting, and use of MS Office systems.
- Ability to analyse data and drive continuous improvement.
It would also be desirable if you had:
- Formal qualifications in Food Safety, HACCP, Environmental Health, or Pest Management.
- Experience with BRCGS, ISO 22000, or similar quality systems.
- NEBOSH / IOSH Managing Safely or equivalent.
- Previous experience managing external contractors.
