As a Maintenance Technician, you'll carry out planned and reactive maintenance on electrical and mechanical plant and machinery, helping to minimise downtime, improve performance and support continuous site operations.

Hours: Rotating 4-on, 4-off shift pattern, comprising 2-day shifts followed by 2-night shifts.
Day shifts: 6:00am to 6:00pm
Night shifts: 6:00pm to 6:00am
Flexibility is required to meet the business needs.
The role:
- Ensure all plant, machinery and equipment remain fully operational, safe and maintained to the highest standard.
- Carry out planned preventative maintenance (PPM) and reactive maintenance activities to minimise downtime and maximise equipment performance.
- Actively support the development, maintenance and effective use of the Computerised Maintenance Management System (CMMS).
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of all maintenance activities, repairs and inspections.
- Oversee and monitor contractor activities when required, ensuring compliance with site procedures, risk assessments and method statements.
- Prepare and issue Permit to Work and Authorisation to Work documentation for contractors and internal maintenance activities.
- Identify, recommend and implement engineering improvements to enhance reliability, efficiency and operational performance.
- Ensure compliance with all Health & Safety, environmental and company policies and procedures.
- Build and maintain professional working relationships with contractors, suppliers and external service providers.
- Effectively utilise site digitalisation and engineering systems as part of daily maintenance and problem-solving activities.
- Support continuous improvement initiatives and contribute to maintaining a safe, efficient and reliable production environment.
About you:
- HNC/HND qualified in electrical/mechanical engineering
- Strong communication skills, both written and verbal, with good IT proficiency including Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel and Outlook).
- Flexibility and adaptability as no two days are ever the same
- Knowledge and hands-on experience of PLCs and process control systems.
- IOSH qualification or a strong understanding of Health & Safety best practice.
- Experience using Computerised Maintenance Management Systems (CMMS) for recording, planning and managing maintenance activities.
- Strong fault-finding and problem-solving skills, with the ability to work effectively under pressure.
- A proactive, flexible approach with the ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- A commitment to continuous improvement, safety and delivering high engineering standards.
Desirable:
- Previous experience within a food manufacturing or FMCG environment, along with a basic Food Hygiene qualification, would be advantageous.
