We are recruiting for an exciting opportunity to join our experienced milling team at Whitley Bridge. This is a great opportunity for someone looking to build a long‑term, rewarding career within the milling industry. You will be fully trained across all areas of our flour mill, Flour Heat Treatment plants and the complete milling process; from raw material intake through to finished products.
Location: Whitley Bridge, Goole
Salary: up to £29,300

Hours: You will begin working 40 hours per week, Monday to Friday. As you progress, you’ll join our established rotating shift pattern, which includes days, nights and weekend working, so flexibility and a willingness to work shifts are essential.
The role: We offer a fully funded, in‑depth training programme lasting a minimum of four years, designed to support your growth and confidence in the role. This includes:
- Completion of all NABIM (National Association of British & Irish Millers) flour milling correspondence courses
- Hands‑on learning to build the practical skills needed for milling operations
- Ongoing support from a knowledgeable and supportive team
Once fully trained, your responsibilities will include:
- Testing and certifying flour to ensure it consistently meets customer specifications
- Supporting wider site operations and providing cover where required
- Carrying out HACCP, CCP and food safety checks in line with site procedures
- Ensuring production requirements are met and customer orders are fulfilled at every stage, from wheat intake through to flour despatch
- Maximising the efficiency of the Flour Heat Treatment plants and mills by adjusting equipment as needed
- Responding promptly to breakdowns, helping to minimise downtime and contributing to solutions that prevent recurring issues
- Completing cleaning duties in line with agreed cleaning schedules
- Carrying out daily operational checks, magnet cleaning and weekly Health & Safety audits
- Supporting stock taking and accurate record‑keeping when required
