Role Overview
Production at our Silloth site operates 24/7 using highly automated equipment, supported by strong engineering practices. The Maintenance Engineer will support day-to-day maintenance, ensuring best practice and team continuity. Working closely with site teams, you will help develop planned preventative maintenance and drive continuous improvement to reduce downtime, while ensuring all work is completed safely by staff and contractors. The shift pattern for this role is of 37.5 hours per week, Monday to Friday.
Key Responsibilities
- Support Engineering Manager with daily planning and team coordination
- Provide out-of-hours support and attend callouts as needed
- Operate maintenance tools and equipment safely
- Promote a safe workplace and reduce accidents/near misses
- Maintain accurate, up-to-date maintenance records
- Maximise plant efficiency and minimise downtime
- Respond promptly to breakdowns and identify improvements
- Complete risk assessments before tasks
- Prioritise and complete maintenance work efficiently
Key Requirements
- Experience in mechanical engineering
- Ability to manage workload effectively
- IT literacy including Microsoft office & D365
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
