As a Packing Line Reliability Engineer, you will play a key role in ensuring the smooth, efficient, and reliable operation of our packing lines. Focusing on maximising performance and minimising downtime, you’ll lead continuous improvement initiatives, applying engineering best practice and data‑driven methods to optimise equipment reliability. Working closely with both engineering and operations teams, you’ll support effective fault finding and resolution, while driving long‑term improvements through systems, processes, and coaching.

Location: Wellingborough

Salary: Competitive

Hours: Monday to Friday, 8 hour shifts

The role:

  • Act as site lead for pack line operations, bridging operator and engineering knowledge.
  • Develop and manage PPM, RCM and TPM programmes via CMMS.
  • Resolve breakdowns promptly, prioritising with Production to maintain output.
  • Monitor reliability and ensure maintenance is completed to prevent downtime and H&S risks.
  • Drive continuous improvement using FMECA and RCA methods.
  • Support pack line projects, including new equipment installation.
  • Coordinate OEM and specialist servicing to maintain standards.
  • Stay current with industry developments; support training for engineers and operators.
  • Communicate issues and resolutions to prevent recurrence.
  • Provide out‑of‑hours support when required.
  • Own issues through to resolution.
  • Ensure all work complies with H&S policies, legislation and standards.
  • Undertake other reasonable duties as required.

About you:

  • Recognised mechanical or electrical engineering qualification.
  • Experience in a similar role within fast‑paced, high‑volume manufacturing (ideally FMCG/mechatronics).
  • Calm and professional under pressure.
  • Strong prioritisation and time management.
  • Effective communicator across teams.
  • Flexible and adaptable to changing demands.
