We are pleased to announce a vacancy for the position of Transport Admin Clerk at our Silloth site.

Role Overview

Reporting to the Transport Manager, the Transport Admin Clerk is responsible for providing efficient administrative support to the transport function, ensuring all transport documentation, records and processes are completed accurately and in line with company policies and procedures.

The role works closely with drivers, customers and internal teams to support the smooth operation of transport activities while maintaining high standards of compliance, accuracy and customer service.

The successful candidate will also provide support to the wider transport team as required.

This is a fixed-term contract for 18 months, providing maternity leave cover, 40 hours per week, Monday to Friday.

Key Responsibilities

  • Process transport documentation and delivery paperwork accurately and on time.
  • Input payroll hours and maintain related records.
  • Liaise with other sites to obtain and manage Proof of Delivery (POD) documentation.
  • Prepare and issue transport paperwork for next-day operations.
  • Review and sign off food safety and compliance records.
  • Conduct driver debriefs and escalates any issues as required.
  • Provide administrative support to the Transport Manager and wider transport team.
  • Support transport planning activities and provide cover during periods of absence.
  • Maintain accurate records and complete other administrative duties as required.
  • Key Requirements
  • Previous administrative experience, ideally within a transport environment.
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Good organisation and time management skills.
  • Effective written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to prioritise workload and meet deadlines.
  • Proactive, reliable and able to work on own initiative.
  • Flexible approach and willingness to support the wider team.
