Production at our Dogsthorpe site operates 24/7 using highly automated equipment, where performance relies on strong engineering standards and practices. In this role you will work closely with site engineers on routine tasks and maintenance activities, ensuring team continuity and the consistent application of best practices.

Location: Peterborough

Hours: Monday to Friday shift pattern, working 40 hours per week

The role:

  • Work closely with the Maintenance Supervisor to plan and coordinate the team’s daily workload, ensuring continuity of operations.
  • Provide support to production through participation in a 1-in-4-week call‑out rota.
  • Operate all maintenance equipment and tools safely and efficiently.
  • Support the achievement of a zero‑accident environment by promoting safe working practices and actively reducing near misses.
  • Ensure all maintenance documentation is accurate, up to date, and signed off where required.
  • Maximise plant efficiency by applying sound engineering practices.
  • Minimise downtime by responding promptly to breakdowns and identifying continuous improvement opportunities.
  • Carry out and review risk assessments prior to undertaking maintenance tasks.
  • Prioritise and complete maintenance activities in a timely and effective manner.
  • Proactively contribute to the achievement of site strategy, departmental objectives, and KPI targets.

About you:

  • Able to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Experience in a similar role within an FMCG or manufacturing environment.
  • Electrically qualified with 5+ years’ experience and strong mechanical skills.
  • PLC/process control knowledge with hands‑on experience.
  • Strong prioritisation, time management, and problem‑solving skills.
  • Excellent communication and attention to detail.
  • Adaptable, flexible, and positive approach.
  • IT literate (Excel, Word) with CMMS experience.
  • Full UK driving licence.
