We’re looking for a Retail Category & Insights Manager to drive growth across the UK retail channel through high‑quality insight, market analysis, and retailer‑focused recommendations. Combining strong analytical expertise with commercial awareness, you’ll turn market, shopper, and competitor data into clear, actionable plans that support sales performance. Working closely with key retail partners, you’ll strengthen relationships by bringing category insight and shopper behaviour to life.

Location: Silloth or Kirkcaldy (primary location) with UK‑based travel requirements.

Salary: up to £65,000 depending on experience, plus additional benefits such as a company car and private medical healthcare. Full time, 40 hours per week, Monday to Friday.

The role

  • Analyse market, shopper, and retailer data to uncover trends, risks, and growth opportunities, turning insight into clear commercial recommendations.
  • Lead category insight for key retail partners, supporting buyer conversations and joint business planning with compelling, data‑led narratives.
  • Deliver recommendations on range, space, and merchandising to optimise assortment, visibility, and overall shopper experience.
  • Monitor competitor pricing and promotions, evaluating performance to drive improved ROI and category value.
  • Collaborate cross‑functionally with Sales, Marketing, and other teams to support launches, planning, forecasting, and long‑term category strategy.

About you

  • Proven experience in category management, insights, or commercial analysis within FMCG.
  • Strong analytical skills with proficiency in Nielsen/IRI/Kantar and retailer data systems.
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills, able to simplify complex data for stakeholders at all levels.
  • Demonstrated experience supporting category reviews or insight presentations with major UK retailers.
  • Commercially minded with the ability to turn data into clear, actionable recommendations.
  • Understanding of the home baking or ambient grocery market.
  • Experience with planogramming tools.
  • Passion for consumer food trends, shopper motivations, and category innovation.
