Role Overview

Working both individually and as part of the team, our Maintenance Technicians are responsible for the maintenance and repair of all Electrical and Mechanical plant and machinery at our Whitley Bridge site. The hours of work are Monday to Friday, 40 hours per week. Flexibility is required to meet the business needs.

Key Responsibilities

  • To ensure that all machinery and equipment is fully operational and in optimal condition.
  • To be actively involved in the ongoing development and use of the Maintenance management system.
  • To maintain accurate record of all works carried out.
  • To manage and monitor contractor activity when required to ensure they are working to the site contractor management policy and their written risk assessments and method statements.
  • To produce approval to work and permit to work documentation for contractors or in-house activities.
  • To promote and implement improvements in our site engineering to maximise efficiencies.
  • To adhere to H&S and environmental requirements.
  • To liaise with outside contractors and suppliers in a professional manner.
  • To utilise the site's digitalisation tools as part of the everyday engineering toolkit.

Key Requirements

  • 18th Edition IEE Regs, Core Electrical qualification and previous experience.
  • Effective communication skills including IT literate, Microsoft Office/Word/Excel.
  • Full Driving license.
  • PLC – process control knowledge and hands-on experience.
  • IOSH Qualification.
  • Food or FMCG experience with basic food hygiene certificate.
  • CMMS - Computerised Maintenance management systems knowledge and experience.
