Location: Silloth

Salary: Competitive

Hours: Full time, 40 hours per week

The role:

  • Manage technical documentation to meet retailer/customer policies and codes of practice, including completion of GAP analysis.
  • Leading internal and external audits including retail and BRCGS.
  • Maintaining internal audit schedules ensuring full audit readiness.
  • Conduct artwork and labelling reviews and approval.
  • Support in the maintenance of accurate finished product specifications (internal and retailer).
  • Risk assesses potential food safety or compliance risks, developing action plans to mitigate them.
  • Co-ordinate retail queries, which require technical input to the satisfaction of the customer.
  • New product development trials and proposals are assessed to both customer requirements and site capabilities.
  • Ensure all products meet UK/EU food safety regulations and legislation.
  • Support in supplier/raw material/packaging approvals to adhere to legal, safety and retail codes of practice.
  • Promote a strong food safety and quality culture, working collaboratively with colleagues to drive CAPA actions, implementing best practice to improve food safety, quality and GMP including root cause analysis.
  • Deliver technical training to staff, promoting a company-wide culture of food safety, quality and hygiene compliance.

About you:

  • Proven experience in technical, QA or a compliance role within retail or food manufacturing.
  • Certification in internal auditing HACCP Level 3 and Food Safety Level 3.
  • Experience of working to major retailer standards.
  • Strong organisational skills, ability to work independently managing workload to timescales.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office suite.
  • Food related HND or degree desirable.
  • Experience of retail specific ERP systems desirable.
