Band 6 Specialist Community Public Health Nurse- School Nursing

We are recruiting for dynamic qualified Specialist Community Public Health Nurses (SCPHN) with strong public health focus who are fully committed to delivering and improving the health and well‑being of our diverse school aged children.

As a highly motivated and dynamic school nurse, you will play a leading role in shaping our services as we are committed in meeting the health needs of children and young people through the delivery of the 5-19 Healthy Child Programme.

The School Nurse will play a key role in delivering high‑quality, evidence‑based care within schools across Haringey. As part of a wider service transformation, the School Nursing Service is being redesigned to meet the evolving health needs of Haringey's school-aged population, in line with Healthy Child Programme 2026 and local priorities identified through the Joint Strategic Needs Assessment (JSNA).

This post is essential in supporting the delivery of a modern, responsive service that improves health outcomes, reduces inequalities, and provides targeted support to children, young people and their families. We are seeking a dedicated and innovative practitioner who is passionate about achieving positive outcomes and contributing to the future development of the service.

You will be responsible for a defined caseload of secondary and primary schools, overseeing the delivery of the Healthy Child Programme (5-19). This will involve working in collaboration with parents/carers, education and other multiagency professionals.

Whittington Health serves a richly diverse population, and we work hard to ensure that all our services are fair and equally accessible to everyone. Nowhere is this more obvious than in the way we look after our staff. We aim to employ a workforce which is as representative as possible of this population, so we are open to the value of differences in age, disability, gender, marital status, pregnancy and maternity, race, sexual orientation, and religion or belief. The Trust believes that as a public sector organisation we have an obligation to have recruitment, training, promotion and other formal employment policies and procedures that are sensitive to these differences.

As an integrated care organisation, providing both hospital and community services, we offer a range of development opportunities along with attractive benefits to staff at all levels of our organisation. We think that by doing so, we are better able to treat our patients as well as being a better place to work.

We offer flexible working arrangements, Oyster Cards for travel during work time, iPhone, 4G laptop and we also have agile working.
