Paediatric Emergency Department Staff Nurse – Band 5
Join Whittington Health as a Paediatric Emergency Department Staff Nurse – Band 5 and help deliver life‑saving, high‑quality care to children and their families.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide emergency nursing care in a fast‑paced paediatric environment.
- Work across a shift pattern that includes long days (07:30–20:00), night shifts (19:30–08:00) and twilight shifts (10:00–22:30).
- Collaborate with the dedicated paediatric lead nurse, practice development nurses and allocated mentor to deliver evidence‑based care.
- Support the paediatric emergency team in trauma triage and critical care services.
Qualifications & Experience
- Registered Nurse (RN) with post‑registration acute nursing experience preferred.
- Experience in a paediatric or emergency care setting is advantageous.
- Commitment to ongoing professional development and willingness to undertake additional training.
Training & Development
- PILS (Paediatric Immediate Life Support)
- TILS (Trauma Immediate Life Support)
- Qualification in Specialism for Paediatric Emergency Nursing (RCN accredited)
- Manchester Triage Training
Within two years of joining, you will be offered the above courses, supporting your progression towards a junior sister role.
