The Children and Young People’s Improving Access to Psychological Therapies programme (CYP IAPT) is a service transformation programme delivered by Health Education England and partners that aims to improve existing children and young people’s mental health services (CYP MHS) working in the community.

Islington Community CAMHS provides an integrated multi‑disciplinary service for children and young people aged 0‑18 years. The Children’s Wellbeing Practitioner (CWP) Team is located within the Social Emotional Mental Health Pathway alongside CAMHS, Local Authority and 3rd Sector Mental Health Service providers. Referrals are received through a Central Point of Access. The postholder will work as a clinician in the CWP Team, collaborating with service leads to coordinate and develop the team, manage clinical caseloads, and provide intensive supervision.

Responsibilities:

  • Supervise up to three trainee Children’s Well‑Being Practitioners (Band 4).
  • Provide group and individual supervision and support trainees to complete CYP‑IAPT training.
  • Deliver CBT‑informed guided self‑help for children and young people (2‑18 years) experiencing mild to moderate anxiety, low mood and behavioural problems across 1:1 work, group work and psycho‑educational workshops.
  • Join CWPs in clinical sessions where appropriate and manage clinical caseload.
