Overview
CAMHS Youth Justice Service Specialist Mental Health Clinician (Clinical Psychologist, Mental Health Nurse, Child Psychotherapist, Family Therapist, Mental Health Social Worker). Maternity leave cover. Contract: 12 months (fixed term). Hours: Part-time – 6 sessions per week. Grade: NHS AfC: Band 7. Annual Leave: 27 days per annum increasing to 29 days after 5 years NHS service and 33 days after 10 years NHS service. Site: Isledon Road, London N7 (YJS Partner agency). Employer: Whittington Health NHS Trust. Department: Islington CAMHS. Responsible to: CAMHS YJS Team manager. Accountable to: Deputy Associate Director for CAMHS. Salary: £43,742-50,056 per annum. Terms & Conditions of Service: In accordance with NHS Agenda for Change.
Responsibilities
- Screen and assess Children and Young People where there is consent for CAMHS to become involved.
- Determine whether further therapeutic work would be beneficial. Liaise with further services where more input is needed and share any risk concerns.
- Provide ongoing therapeutic work to children and young people who would like to continue accessing therapeutic support.
- Provide a flexible approach to therapeutic support, generally working with children up to the completion of court order where necessary.
- Provide consultation spaces, offering one hour bi-monthly to each case manager to consult on their caseload of children and young people to identify mental health concerns and support delivery of intervention.
- Attend weekly Early Intervention and Diversion panel meeting (multi-agency) where all children and young people who have come into contact with the police are discussed.
- Offer mental health screening to children and young people discussed at the Early Intervention Diversion panel when necessary, reviewing case notes on health care records and summarizing on a need-to-know basis.
- Provide a CAMHS service within YJS in line with service level agreement and key performance indicators.
