The Emergency & Integrated Medicine Care Service Unit (ICSU) is looking to recruit a Band 3 Ward Clerk to work within dedicated specialty areas.

We are seeking a highly motivated and organised individual to join a busy team. This is an ideal opportunity for a proactive and self-motivated individual who enjoys working in a fast paced environment. Excellent interpersonal and communication skills and an ability to work under pressure is essential to the role.

The ideal candidate will have NHS experience and a flexible approach to work. They willtake responsibility, without close supervision, for providing administrative support to theEmergency and Integrated Medicine Acute Wards. The post holder will answer telephone callsand redirect as necessary, carrying out their duties in a polite and professional manner.This is apatient facing role and will require an individual who has a calm demeanour and an ability towork inadynamicenvironment.

Toliaisewitharangeofotherhealthprofessionalsanddepartmentswithinthehospitalensuringthedepartmentinterfacesefficientlywiththem. Torespectpatientandstaffconfidentiality. Maintain case notes in line with policy, arranging for case notes to be merged where required.

RegisteringpatientsonMedway,transferringtootherwardsanddischarging.

Updating patients’ details on the electronic patient register (EPR) to a very high degree ofaccuracy.

Maintaining patient transfer book and updating patient status whiteboard where required.

Uploading “FriendsandFamily Test”patientfeedback totheMeridiansystem.

Locatingthewhereabouts ofcase notesandcollectingasrequired.

Bookingofinterpreters,greetinguponarrivalandreferringtorelevantstaff.

Othersupportingactivities:
