Wound Care Specialist
Full-Time Days, 40 hours/week
Monday-Friday, flexibility available
We are looking for a Certified Wound Care RN to join our nursing team within our beautiful Rehabilitation Hospital conveniently located off of 495 on Ward Hill in Bradford Mass.
Essential Duties:
-Acts as a role model for professional practice in wound care (in outpatient wound clinic and inpatient as necessary)
-Provides and/or coordinates patient care, including appropriate referrals for required services and necessary equipment to meet the wound care needs of the patient.
-Participates in interdisciplinary meetings as appropriate.
-Evaluates equipment needs and makes recommendations to the Director of Nursing and Clinical Services appropriately.
-Is responsible for equipment management by providing education and monitoring safety.
-Collaborates with affiliating agencies to meet the care needs of the wound care patients
-Initiates a nursing assessment of patient\'s condition upon admission to the wound clinic.
-Assesses and interprets reports communicating findings with the assigned physician.
-Recognize and assesses initial alterations in the patient\'s body system and verbalizes this to other members of the health care team.
-Organizes assessment data for accuracy, completeness and confidentiality
-Records assessment data in an orderly fashion and communicates, revises, and verbalizes pertinent information to other health care team members.
-Assesses, stages, measures wounds accurately and in accordance to policy.
- Photographs wounds according to policy and procedure
-Identifies patient care situations that require intervention, implements nursing actions and evaluates responses.
-Provides consultation to nursing staff and other health care professionals.
-Provides leadership in the development, implementation and evaluation of standards of practice within specialty area.
-Collaborates with Director of Nursing, Clinical Services and the Coordinator of PI to identify learning needs of the staff.
Prerequisites:
-Wound Care Certified, CWS or CWCN/CWOCN preferred
-Current Massachusetts Nursing License
