The Whittan Group is the largest manufacturer of steel storage products in the United Kingdom. We are seeking a Production Operator to join our expanding operation in Milton Keynes. The successful candidate will be responsible for producing high-quality products through the effective operation of a range of machinery, while adhering to all health and safety policies and contributing positively to a safe working environment.

Role Overview

The Production Operator will work within a fast-paced warehouse and production setting, ensuring that output targets, quality standards and operational procedures are consistently met.

Key Responsibilities

  • Operate production machinery and undertake manual handling of products as required.
  • Achieve daily production targets in accordance with scheduled workloads.
  • Comply with all health and safety procedures and follow company work instructions.
  • Maintain product quality by inspecting first-offs and ensuring defects are not passed through the process.
  • Record production data accurately, including SAP entries and downtime reporting.
  • Maintain a clean and organised workstation in line with 5S principles.
  • Conduct basic fault-finding and escalate complex issues to the Team Leader.
  • Train on multiple machine types to support operational flexibility.

Skills and Experience

  • Strong attention to detail with the ability to identify defects or irregularities.
  • Computer literacy, including the use of machine interfaces and data entry systems.
  • Understanding of mechanical production techniques (desirable).
  • Experience using SAP (desirable).
  • Ability to work effectively within a fast-paced warehouse and production environment.
