The Whittan Group is the largest manufacturer of steel storage products in the United Kingdom. Operating through a number of market leading brands, we design, manufacture and install storage solutions for commercial and industrial environments in the UK and Europe. We are looking for a Production Operative to join our busy and growing organisation.
The Production Operator will produce agreed levels of quality product through the successful operation of various machines, while adhering and positively contributing to health and safety policies and procedures. The hours of work are Monday‑Thursday 06:00 – 16:30.
Key responsibilities:- Operating different machinery as required.
- Produce products in line with Company output rates.
- Follow production schedules as required to meet deadlines.
- Fill in the required SAP information and downtime data.
- To produce good quality product in line with the Quality guidelines.
- Use of forklift truck in a safe and responsible manner around the factory/warehouse.
- Record any scrap on the system.
- Maintain a clean and tidy work station in line with 5S standards.
- Train on multiple types of machinery.
- Operate all machine controls, which are a combination of mechanical, push button and computer key/touch pads.
- Fault find on daily generic issues, escalating complex faults to the Team Leader.
- Inspection of production first offs to ensure rejects are not passed on through the process and high standards of quality are achieved.
- Counterbalance or Combi forklift licence.
