About the Role - Whittaker Engineering Ltd have fantastic opportunities for a skilled CNC machinist (Horizontal Borer) to join our dynamic Machining department at our Stonehaven facility. This is an exciting opportunity for a motivated individual to work with advanced machinery and be a key player in delivering high quality, precision products.
Responsibilities
- Safely and accurately operate CNC machinery for drilling, boring, and milling tasks.
- Ensure the maintenance and cleanliness of machinery and consumables in respect of manufacturer recommendations to ensure fitness for purpose and accuracy.
- Uphold and maintain the Quality Assurance System, ensuring proper materials traceability.
- Work safely and adhere to all health, safety, and environmental guidelines.
- Work closely with team members across departments to ensure client requirements are met.
Qualifications & Skills
Essential:
- Time-served (Modern Apprenticeship or equivalent).
- Minimum of 2 years’ experience working with Fanuc (setting, operating, and programming).
- Experience with Horizontal Boring.
- Proficiency in reading and interpreting technical drawings.
Desirable:
- Experience working with a variety of machine tools.
- Ability to program CNC machines from scratch.
- 5+ years' relevant experience in the Oil & Gas sector.
