Job Description

Hybrid working, minimum one day per week in the office. 2 roles available, x1 permanent, x1 12-month maternity cover contract, both full time Visa sponsorship available.

Organisation:

Our client is highly respected independent charity and What Works Centre dedicated to breaking the link between family income and education achievement. They do this by supporting schools, nurseries and colleges to improve teaching and learning for two- to 19-year-olds through better use of evidence.​

Role:

In this role you will:

Work closely with grantees and other internal and external evaluators to understand the practical issues involved in delivering evaluations and finding solutions to issues that arise

Critically review evaluation proposals to ensure designs are methodologically sound and cost-effective and that the most suitable evaluators are matched with projects

Chair meetings to ensure evaluation projects are setup effectively and liaise between project and evaluation teams to ensure project evaluation designs are as high quality as possible

Manage evaluation contracts and budgets and monitor delivery of evaluation plans and provide support when problems arise

Conduct technical reviews of trial protocols, statistical analysis plans and evaluation reports and provide critical feedback to evaluators

Work closely with internal teams to ensure published reports are of high quality and effectively communicate findings to an audience of practitioners, academics, policymakers and the general public.

Candidate:

Degree with substantial research methodological training, or equivalent research experience 

Demonstrable experience in delivery or commissioning quantitative evaluation projects in education, health or related field

Strong understanding of evaluation methodologies (randomised controlled trials, quasi-experimental designs, sampling methods, outcome measurement, etc) and an ability to identify high quality evaluation plans

Experience of working in a busy environment with the proven ability to work under pressure and flexibly manage competing priorities

Strong organisational and project management skills and excellent interpersonal and communication skills with a clear writing style

Ability to manage relationships and communicate with practitioners, academics and policymakers.
