Whitmore Vale provides services for people with learning disabilities through supported living and residential care, supporting those with mild to profound and complex disabilities. We work closely with volunteers to offer flexible opportunities that match their skills and availability, reimbursing reasonable travel expenses and other out‑of‑pocket costs.
Volunteer Responsibilities
- Providing and supporting activities both in‑house and in the community
- Sharing any skills or interests you may have, such as gardening, music, arts and crafts, baking
- Facilitating or supporting walking groups
- Supporting residents on day trips or in the community
- Providing emotional support to our residents – sometimes they just need someone to chat to over a cuppa
- Driving residents in company vehicles so they can access the community (drivers will need to undergo a licence check and will be put on company insurance)
- Admin support in our head office

Requirements
- All volunteers will be required to undergo a DBS check and attend induction and mandatory training.
- We are unable to accept applicants under the age of 18 due to safeguarding and insurance.
