Due to increased business demands, a 4-star luxury hotel located in the north of Sheffield is seeking to appoint a receptionist to join their front of house team. Previous experience at a similar level is preferred but not essential. If you have a can-do attitude, approachable and friendly nature, and the ability to remain calm under pressure, then this may be the role for you.
Reporting to the Hotel Reception Manager, this role involves responsibility for the welcoming and quality of guest service to all customers in a consistent approach in delivering the highest service standards at all times within the hotel operation.
Key relationships:- Reports to the Reception Manager.
- Working within a team of up to 5 reception staff.
- Interaction with colleagues from other departments within the hotel in the course of carrying out duties contained within this description.
- To provide a polite and efficient reception service to all hotel guests, both residents and non-residents.
- To promote and sell the hotel facilities, aiming to achieve maximum revenue whilst exceeding guest expectations.
- To welcome guests to the hotel in a courteous and helpful manner, ensuring guest satisfaction at all times.
- Responsible for all aspects of the day-to-day running of the hotel reception desk.
- To inform the duty manager of any irregularities and record and relay any guest's comments that require management attention.
- To be polite and friendly at all times to both customers and colleagues.
- To show willingness to be flexible at all times in assisting other departments within the hotel, as the needs of the business dictate, with the ultimate aim in mind of providing the best possible service to our guests.
- To ensure that cash is securely stored and banked in the correct manner.
- Liaise with the reception or duty manager on a daily basis regarding guest issues.
- Ensure that all checklists and procedures are completed.
- To handle any guest complaints or problems promptly and to ensure that all resolved and unresolved problems are reported to the manager on duty.
- To maintain your departmental area safe, hygienic, and presentable at all times.
- To co-operate and communicate with all your colleagues and managers to ensure effective departmental teamwork and high morale.
