Overview
We are seeking a motivated and detail‑oriented graduate to join our HRRecruitment & Compliance team at Whitgift School, a leading independent day and boarding school for boys in South Croydon. The role supports the HRRecruitment & Compliance Manager in delivering a professional, efficient, and compliant HR service, ensuring safeguarding, regulatory and recruitment obligations are met.
Salary and Location
- Salary: Point 16 – £30,529 to Point 19 – £32,436 gross per annum, based on qualifications and experience.
- Location: Whitgift School, 48‑acre site, South Croydon.
Responsibilities
- Support the review and maintenance of HR documentation and compliance processes.
- Assist with pre‑employment vetting and safeguarding checks, including child protection screening.
- Manage sensitive information with discretion and professionalism.
- Help maintain accurate HR data, including collection, reporting and record keeping.
- Build positive relationships with staff, candidates, visitors and external stakeholders.
- Contribute to decision‑making and continuous improvement by analysing HR data.
Qualifications & Requirements
- Graduate level education or equivalent.
- Highly organised with excellent attention to detail.
- Strong communication skills and proactive learning attitude.
- Comfortable managing multiple priorities and confidential information.
- Interest in compliance, safeguarding, administration and data‑driven decision‑making.
- Willingness to undergo child protection screening, DBS checks and overseas checks.
Safeguarding and Child Protection Requirements

The post is exempt from the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act1974, and applicants must declare all convictions and cautions, even those that are “spent,” unless protected under DBS filtering rules.
