We are seeking an inspirational and strategic Head of English to lead and further develop a high‑performing faculty. The successful candidate will be responsible for the vision, leadership and day‑to‑day management of English across the school, ensuring outstanding teaching, learning and outcomes for all students.

Responsibilities

  • Work closely with the Senior Management to develop future subject‑led curriculum, including preparation for co-education in the Lower School, and use data intelligently to drive improvement and intervention.
  • Line‑manage staff, support professional development and foster a collaborative reflective team culture.
  • Ensure high standards of teaching from Lower School through to A Level, promote scholarship and a love of English, and contribute to whole‑school priorities including literacy, co‑curricular provision and the wider life of the school.
  • Take responsibility for budget planning, resource development, staff recruitment and induction, and represent the subject in school forums and marketing activities.
